We Are MerchantHouse
Here at MerchantHouse Office Cleaners, we pride ourselves on being able to offer our customers a very wide range of commercial cleaning services. However, there’s a couple of common threads that run through all the office cleaning services we provide (apart from the fact that they’re what we do, of course). Firstly, we always carry out our work to a very high standard. Second, we have full insurance cover on all of them. Thirdly, you get to decide how often you want to make the most of the services!
To get down to the nitty-gritty, we can provide you with all of the following:
- Daily office cleaning services (janitor services, general office cleaning)
- Bathroom and washroom cleaning
- Hard floor cleaning, polishing and buffing
- Moving in and moving out cleaning for businesses (end and start of tenancy cleaning)
- Spring cleaning and deep cleaning
- Providing janitorial supplies
- Computer and electronic equipment cleaning
This is a bit of a bare-bones list so here’s a bit more detail about exactly what we do.
General Office Cleaning And Janitor Services
By far the most common (and the most popular) of our commercial cleaning services would have to be our janitor services. The people who do this job might go by a range of names, from the classy sounding “sanitary executive” through to the rather insulting “scrubbing woman” (that one is, thankfully, seriously out of date but it turns up in old books and movies), but the general idea is the same. Someone comes in after hours to give your workplace a good going over, often on a daily basis, to deal with all the mess of the day so that your business premises are in good order and tidy, the way they should be.
A janitor will take care of all those daily chores, big and little, such as the following:
- Vacuuming floors
- Sweeping and mopping hard floors such as vinyl – and yes, we scrub them as well if needed
- Emptying rubbish bins and recycling bins
- Wiping down desks and tables in cubicles, conference rooms, etc.
- Wiping fingerprints off high-touch metallic surfaces such as doorknobs, stair rails, etc.
- Removing cobwebs
- Dusting flat surfaces, such as windowsills, skirting boards and ventilator grilles
- Removing wilted flower arrangements
- Polishing and buffing hard floors (e.g. wood, tiles and parquet)
- Sanitising kitchens, canteen areas and morning tea rooms
- Wiping down countertops
- Cleaning out the refrigerator and the microwave oven
- Sanitising bathrooms, toilets, urinals, showers and washrooms
- Topping up the supplies of hygiene consumables, such as towels, toilet paper, hand sanitiser and soap
- Watering and caring for indoor plants
- Picking up debris off floors and in entrances
- Straightening and arranging tables, desks and chairs
- Neatening cushions and reading material in reception areas
In short, we do everything that’s needed from a cleanliness and hygiene point of view to keep your business running smoothly and to keep you and your staff members healthy.
Hard Floor Cleaning
Hard floors are hard-wearing and durable, but they take a fair bit of care to ensure that they are not just attractive (or as attractive as they can be – there’s not a lot you can do to make bare concrete look pretty!) but safe as well. Hard floors are the surfaces where people are most likely to slip and trip if the surface isn’t clean or if it’s got liquid on it. On top of that, hard floors can pick up some marks that carpets don’t get – and that can’t be removed with a vacuum cleaner.
This is why MerchantHouse Office Cleaners provides a full suite of hard floor cleaning services. Our janitors can take care of what’s needed on a daily basis, such as vacuuming, sweeping, scrubbing and mopping, but there are times when you need something a bit more. Hard floors often need a protective layer of polish. Polish doesn’t just make the floor gleam; it also stops the floor getting stained and marked, extending the life of the surface. If polish gets marked, it’s simple to strip off the old and reapply a new coat. It’s certainly a lot easier and cheaper to re-polish than to re-surface!
Our hard floor care team are able to polish and care for a wide range of flooring surfaces, including the following:
- Wood and particle board, including parquet
- Concrete
- Tiles
- Bricks
- Linoleum and vinyl
- Slate
- Special surfaces such as indoor basketball courts and the floors of sports complexes
Heavy-duty hard floor cleaning doesn’t usually need to be done quite as often as other office cleaning duties, but it does need to be done regularly. You can arrange the schedule that suits your workplace best and we’ll provide what you need.
Bathroom And Washroom Cleaning
There’s no getting around the fact that the toilets are the smelliest part of the business and the part that most needs to be cleaned if you want your staff members to stay healthy. It’s particularly important to have clean toilets if you are in any sort of business that involves customers coming to you and using the loo, from retail to food outlets. I’ve heard of some people who won’t go to certain outlets because they know the toilets are awful – and some who go to certain stores because the loos are good (and they usually feel obliged to do a little shopping as well while they’re in the store). In short, it pays to have clean bathroom areas in more ways than one.
This is why we’ve put together our specialist bathroom and washroom cleaning services. That’s right: you can get someone in just to clean the bathrooms and toilets… on a schedule that suits you! Our hygiene experts will take care of all the following smelly but necessary jobs:
- Wiping down countertops
- Cleaning out sinks
- Scrubbing and disinfecting toilets inside and out
- Cleaning grout and tiles
- Emptying rubbish bins
- Polishing taps
- Cleaning mirrors
- Topping up supplies of towels, toilet paper, soap, feminine sanitary items, etc.
- Mopping and disinfecting floors
- Cleaning glass shower doors
- Wiping down walls and ventilator grilles, especially to remove mould
- Scrubbing out and sterilizing urinals
- Changing roller towels
- Disinfecting baby change stations and tables if these are in place
Moving In And Moving Out Cleans
When you want to go from one site to another, it’s important that you start off in a nice clean place – and it’s polite to leave the building in good condition when you go. It’s a real hassle moving office at the best of times, but we help you by taking care of this side of things so you don’t have to worry about it. We’ll clean the new building – or the old one – or both! – from top to bottom, leaving it fresh and clutter-free for whoever is going to go into there next.
We are used to a range of situations and scenarios when it comes to end and start of tenancy cleaning for businesses. This means that if you want us to dispose of any unwanted office furniture and clutter that you’re not taking with you to the new place, or that the previous occupants left behind them, we’ll get rid of it for you. However, if you are moving into our out of a furnished office space, we’ll take care of cleaning those desks or whatever has been left behind as well. All you need to do is let us know and we’ll do it your way.
We know that end and start of tenancy cleaning for businesses is often time-sensitive, so we are flexible and versatile. We have no problem coming out in the evenings or in the weekends to get the empty place in good condition and ready when you need it.
We hope that this has given you more of an idea of what we can do for you. If there’s anything else that you’d like to know or if you’d like to make a booking, then please get in touch with us at any time.
